Studio Founder, Bianca Ljungberg

My name is Bianca Ljungberg and I’d love to welcome you to our exclusive Pilates and movement studio in Habo Ljung, Skåne in southern Sweden. I am particularly passionate about working with women in their 40s, 50s and 60s who experience pain and want to feel the healing benefits of Pilates and meditation.

About

Although I am relatively new to this area, I have been practising Pilates for over 16 years with over 10,000+ hours of personal and certified teaching hours on the mat and Pilates apparatus. In 2015, I founded a thriving Pilates and yoga studio in the south of France which continues to welcome clients from all over the world.

It is at The Studio Côte d’Azur that I developed my unique approach to the human body, stress and well being. My hope is to share my philosophy in Scandinavia and establish my teaching in this beautiful part of the world.

Since 2014, I have been trained as a contemporary Pilates teacher with Body Arts and Science International a leading Pilates education academy which inspires its students to become masters in the art of movement and science of anatomy. I have attended Pilates courses in Italy, Cape Town, Greece and Amsterdam and studied in the presence of leading BASI Faculty including Rael Isacowitz, Inge Pretorius and Sheri Long. I have since gone on to further my studies in Pilates with courses in injury and pre-and post-natal movement.

In my years working with the human mind and body, I have come into contact with hundreds of clients who have experienced all sorts of suffering, including chronic pain, loss and illness. In mid-2021, this work became my deepest inspiration when I suffered a total physical and emotional burnout.

Through this profound personal and professional journey, I have become interested in the world of trauma and mind-body medicine, including the work of Peter Levine, Gabor Maté, Stephen W. Porges, Thich Nhat Hanh and others. In 2022, I took a one year sabbatical dedicated to self-study and the study of trauma, completing The Healing Trauma Program with Sounds True in October 2022. More recently, I have been touched and deeply inspired by the Plum Village Tradition of Engaged Buddhism.

I practice what I teach and continue to attend regular therapy, retreats and movement practices that nourish my own personal and spiritual growth. As a mother, wife and career woman, I also deeply respect the journey to my own health and am passionate about empowering other women to do the same.

I have learned how to approach each client individually, confidentially and with non-judgement, allowing them the safe space to explore their inner resources and heal from both physical and emotional pain. I recognise the importance of working holistically, looking at the same problem from different lenses; and understanding what works for one client might not work for another.

I am also a keen walker, almost daily meditator and writer. I hold an Honours Degree with distinction in Journalism from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

South African by birth, I lived on the French Riviera for ten years before moving to Sweden with my husband, two young children and dog.
